Buck Lane Water Plant

GWS is currently working with its engineer to construct a new water treatment plant at the site of the Buck Lane water well.   The project generally consists of 10' Diameter Gravity Filter, an 87,000 gallon ground storage tank, two 350 gpm service pumps, disinfection system and support building.   It also includes construction of a new 12" water line to be run along Buck Lane to tie into our current water line on Hwy 71.

GWS has funding for the project from a USDA Rural Development Loan and contributions from new customers.   The water plant project is expected to cost $2.5 million.   Construction should begin later this year.

Hwy 71 Tx Dot Project

GWS has began construction along Hwy 71 to relocate water lines and road bores to accomdate the widening of Hwy 71.   On the northside, water lines from Dr. Scott Rd almost to the Kubota dealership are being relocated inside new private property lines.   New lines will be installed on the southside of Hwy 71 from Kellman Rd for about 3,000 feet.   A new road bore will made on Hwy 71 to accomdate existing and new service.

129,000 Gallon Storage Tank

Garfield Water Supply awarded a bid for the construction of a 129,000 gallon ground storage tank at the River Timber Plant in early 2017.  Construction was scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.   The new tank will double the amount of ground water storage at the River Timber Water treatment plant.

The new Ground Storage tank of 129,000 gallons was placed in service in December 2017 on schedule.  We now have approximately 258,000 gallons of ground storage water available for the system.
